The following is a note from Margy Miles, [email protected]:
"
I have a beautiful old 3x5 picture professionally mounted on a
"picture board" (for lack of a better description). It is a family.
Man, woman, 3 children. On the back is written;
"Rec'd Dec. 17, 1903 at Carthage, MO.
L.G. Adams & Family
>From Springfield, MO."
This is written in old style writing in old ink.
I thought maybe a descendant of this Adams family would be thrilled
to get it. I know I would if it were my family.
I am not selling pictures. Someone can have this for what I paid for it.
I believe it was only about $3 or $4."
Please contact Margy directly if this is your family.....thanx. megan

My ancestor, John Bralley, came from Cork, Ireland in the mid-1700's,
settling briefly in Philadelphia and eventually moving on down the Valley

Guy, also of Ireland, had at least five children. The oldest son, James
Bralley, married Hannah Smyth/Smith. Their son, Jonathan Bralley,
married a Margaret Bogle and moved to Webster and Greene Counties in
Missouri in the 1830's. I know learn that there is a Bralley Cemetery in
Webster County. Does anyone know anything of the Bralleys or that
cemetery? I would appreciate any information about our family there.

I am actively seeking the parents of Thomas Wray b.15 Dec 1776, Gallia
Co., Ohio; d. 17 Oct 1843, Gallia Co., Ohio. Thomas married Rachel Neal
on 26 Sep 1802 in Monroe Co., WV. They moved to the Gallia/Lawrence Co.,
Ohio area approximately 1820. Thomas had at least one proven brother,
John Wray b.ca. 1775, Virginia and d. 1862 in Christian Co., MO. John
married Sarah McGlammery in 1799 in Greenbrier (later became Monroe Co.)
Co., WV. John moved to Lawrence Co., Ohio about 1815, later to Vermillion
Co., IL about 1829 then to Missouri about 1832. In 1834 he married Nany
Kyle Rapp (widow of Daniel Rapp) in Greene Co., MO. Thomas may have had
another brother named Edmond or Edward. Possibility of more siblings.
We have a team of experienced researchers that has gathered a great
deal of data on this family and others with the surname Wray - often
spelled Ray - and sometimes Wrey/Rae/Rea/Reah. We have seen the
name spelled differently within the same document.
There is strong evidence that Thomas & John were originally from
Buckingham/Amherst counties in Virginia. Of particular interest is Moses
Ray who left a will in 1766, Amherst Co., Virginia. His property was
originally purchased in Albemarle Co., the part which later became
Amherst Co. Moses had sons, Moses Jr. (Later moved to Georgia), William
(later moved to Georgia), & Thomas (whereabouts unknown).
Any information on Thomas, John and the family of Moses Ray will be most
welcome. Because the Buckingham County Courthouse burned in 1869, we must
rely on more personal records, i.e., journals, family bibles, letters,
etc.
