What you'll find on this page (or as a link):
Every site must have a pointer to the MOGenWeb Project State Page.
It is recommended that every page carry the following copyright notice:
More information is available at USGenWeb Web Design & Maintenance
Our state project is called "The MOGenWeb Project" (Note the spelling in caps and lower case. Never use the term "Genweb", that name belongs to someone else) |
You will be added to the MO coordinator's list (MOGEN-L). This list is used is for communication between the State Coordinator (SC), Assistant State Coordinators (ASC), all County Coodinators (CC) and Special Project Volunteers. It is mandatory for all CCs to remain subscribed to MOGEN; however you may request from the SC to be subscribed to the digest version (MOGEN-D). |
The list is not to be used for finding your ancestors, but rather to discuss how the MOGenWeb Project operates and to share questions and expertise among the MOGenWeb Project staff. All volunteers and their opinions will be treated with respect (no inflammatory remarks). Our focus is on current and future MOGenWeb coordination. Standard netiquette applies - no foul language or personal insults will be tolerated. |
MOGenWeb understands that a volunteer may wish to maintain pages for the same county for both MOGenWeb and AHLN (or any other potential group). The only policy that MOGenWeb has in this instance is that the county sites should be separate (although they may be duplicates, except for the links and logos each association requires). |
The MOGenWeb Project Logo must be on each site's main page.
We recommend the logo be visible when a user first arrives at your page. |
NOTICE!
Placing any data or links on MOGenWeb pages in return for payment is clearly in conflict with the spirit of the USGenWeb Project to provide free data. Our policy is that it is not acceptable here and we hope that this policy would extend to all of the USGenWeb. |
The MOGenWeb Archives has a site for each MO county,
with a link back to that county. The site is merely a
Table of Contents of files that have been submitted.
Visitors to your county Archive Page can freely download and add information about the county.
Rootsweb has provided us with the space and a fantastic search engine to search our archives. https://sites.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ussearch.htm

MAILING LIST REQUESTS. USGenWeb and WorldGenWeb hosts may have FREE
locality mailing lists
for the areas they host and for that purpose may ignore the "Sponsors-only" warning on the list request page.
Please request new mailing lists at:
http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listrequest.pl
Rootsweb offers the capacity to create such a list as a free service
to all
with their counties at Rootsweb. So if you have your county
pages on
Rootsweb and want to start a list, you are encouraged to do so.
Wherever you have your county page, please consider adding links
to the
subscriber information for all lists that are relevant to your county,
including lists for neighboring counties if there isn't a specific
one for
yours yet.
