Gasconade County History and Map

Gasconade County is situated in Central Missouri, with the Missouri River as the northern boundary. It was formed in 1820 from Franklin County and at that time stretched all the way west to the Kansas state line. In 1841 and again in 1869 portions were transferred to other counties. Today, Gasconade County consists of 9 townships; Roark, Richland, Boulware, Boeuf, Third Creek, Canaan, Clay, Brush Creek and Bourbois. Among the more important towns are; Bay, Bem, Bland, Drake, Gebler, Hermann (the current County Seat), Mount Sterling, New Woolam, Owensville, Rosebud and Tea. Our names are, Keith & Nancy Strassner and we are responsible for Gasconade County.
