Born: October 12, 1877 Died: March 05, 1967 Mrs. Lucy Wood of Campbell Dies (undated obitutary from an unknown Dunklin County, Missouri newspaper) Mrs. Lucy Wood, 89, a lifelong resident of Campbell, died Sunday afternoon (March 05, 1967) at her home. She was well known throughout the Campbell-Malden area. Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 12, 1877 at the Bethany Community near Campbell, the daughter of Bud (i.e. James) and Adaline Gray Whitehead. Her husband, Marion Wood preceded her in death in 1951. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church near Dexter. Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon (Wednesday), at the Landess Chapel in Campbell. Rev. W. C. Hill of Malden officiated and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Landess arrangements. She is survived by four sons, Mart, Roe, and Newt of Campbell and Clyde of Mt. Morris, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Lora Vincent of Campbell, Mrs. Etter Riddle of Malden, Mrs. Gladys Swift of Flint and Mrs. Flora Jones of Qulin; a half-sister, Mrs. May Vincent; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. |
