Mary Gertrude Johnson Manley
Born: August 26, 1877 Died: January 9, 1946 Funeral Friday for Mrs. Manley Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Manley, 68, wife of J.B. Bell Manley, prominent farmer of the Octa community who died Wendsday at the Jonesboro, Arkansas Hospital will be held this Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Church of Christ in Senath. conducted by the Rev. Fred Killibrew, pastor of the Church. Internment will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Kennett, Lenz funeral home will have charge of the services. Mrs. Manley suffered a stroke shortly after Thanksgiving and has been in serious condition since that time. On Tuesday of last week she was taken to Bernard Hospital at Jonesboro Arkansas where she died Wendsday morning. Mary Gertrude Johnson was a native of Tennessee having been born in Dyer County on August 26, 1877. She and Mr. Manley were married in 1894 at Bonicord, Tennessee, and in 1901 they moved to this county where they have since made their home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Manley is survived by two sons, Wade and Roy Manley, both of the Octa Community and five grandchildren. SHe is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. I.F. Moore, Senath; Mrs. T.B. Hardin of Rector, Arkansas; Mrs. Earl Doherty, St. Louis, and one brother W.L. Warmath, Piggott, Arkansas. |
