Mary Jane Evans
Born: December 31, 1849 Died: January 22, 1925 Twice - A - Week Dunklin Democrat Dunklin County, Missouri, Friday, January 23, 1925 Andrew V. Evans' Mother is Dead Mary J. Nichols, daughter of Green Nichols and wife, was born in Humbolt, Tennessee, December 31, 1849 and when quite young was brought to Dunklin County, Missouri. Mary J. Nichols Evans, born December 31, 1849 in Humbolt, Tennessee, died at the home of her son, Andrew V. Evans in Kennett at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 1925. Mary Jane Nichols was the daughter of Green Nichols and wife, and came to Dunklin county with her father when quite young. Shortly after the Civil War she married Frederick Singleton Evans, who died in 1905. She is survived by two sons: James Ancil Evans of Dermott, Arkansas and Andrew V. Evans of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Dora Hickerson of Kennett. Funeral services, which were held at the grave yesterday afternoon, were conducted by the Rev. J. E. Brown of the Baptist Church. |
