Rites Set for Gladys E. Brown
Funeral services for Gladys Ellen Brown of Kennett will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the McDaniel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Glen Seagraves officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery near Caruth with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett in charge of arrangements.
The daughter of the late Larry and Sarah Godby Kirby, she was born March 15, 1904 in Bloomfield. She was married to Dewey S. Brown, who preceded her in death on May 25, 1964. She died Monday at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital at the age of 61 years and 27 days. Survivors include four sons, Lee Brown of Houston, Texas, Floyd Brown of Piggott, Arkansas and Wesley and Samuel Brown both of Flint, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. James Tingle of Kennett; four brothers, Henry Kirby and Eldon Kirby both of Kennett, Richard Kirby of Flint, Michigan and Lawrence Kirby of Miami, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lomax of Arbyrd, Mrs. Mey Smiley of Flint, Michigan and Mrs. Hency Chilcoat of Victoria, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kelcey Wills, Bryan Baker, Frank Brown, Ronnie Brown, Wayne Pelts and Johnny Hicks.
