STEPHENS, WILLIAM HENRY Mar. 25, 1840 - Feb. 4, 192. 'Uncle Henry. Son of John Vant Stephens. Born in Washington County; died at his home 6 miles south of Salem. He is buried in a homemade vault which he made for his burial on his farm. In 1860 he married Elizabeth Jane Larkin (3/15/1843 - 6/1/1897, she is buried at Miner Cemetery). They had thirteen children: Jane (m. John W. Halbrook) & Joseph Henry (both buried at Miner Cemetery), Martha Ellen 'Ellie' (m. John Smith McNeill), Lucinda C. 'Cindy' (m. 1) William R. Jacobs, m. 2) Harve Stewart), John W. (m. Irene R. Moser), Anvil F. (m. Josie Maze), Robert Donald 'Donnie' (m. Susan C. Asbridge), Jasper Calvin (m. Mary M. Hubbs), & Dudley C. (m. Elizabeth Redmon) - all buried at New Hope Cemetery; George A. (m. Ida E. McGee, moved to Phillipsburg MT), Ida M. (m. Silas Pewitt, moved to Laurel MT), & Frances Adeline 'Addie' (m. Rev. Drew Kell) & Doll Dorse (m. Jessie M. Tune) - both buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Stephens family moved to Missouri from Allentown KY, and to Dent County in 1858.
