BRESSIE, EAPHRIAM Mar. 25, 1804 - Apr. 11, 1850. Son of Irby Bressie (born 10/11/1877, who married Susannah Frazier on 6/10/1802. She was born 8/27/1785). Eaphriam was the father of Martha Rosett Castone (she is buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery; her mother was one of his negro slaves); Eaphriam was also the father of Yancy, David (d. 2/22/1862, Civil War, m. Lucinda Sullivan), Mary Ann, Polly (m. Josiah Welch, 7/31/1843, Crawford Co.), William F. Walter, Anny Denny, Samuel, Emily Byington, Maranda Tennessee Byington, Elizabeth Willburn & John (lived Farmington, St. Francois Co., d. Civil War, m. Rachel Murphy – d/o Joseph Murphy). The Bressie Famjly settled in Missouri soon after the Louisiana Purchase, in 1803. Eaphriam owned a large acreage in Dent County & was the largest slave owner in the area. He also operated a store & an inn at this site on the White River Trail, 2 miles northwest of Salem. The second post office in Dent County, Montauk (a name of Indian origin) was later owned by the Watkins family (and presently by Inman family).

HUSBAND & WIFE:
BRESSIE, YANCY Oct. 21, 1824 - ca. 1876. Born in North Carolina. Son of Eaphriam Bressie and his wife Susannah Frazier.
BRESSIE REBECCA ADALINE ca. 1822 – Dec. 12, 1875. Child was Kittie (married John B. Watkins). Died at their home northwest of Salem.

BRESSIE, INFANT No dates. Son of Joseph David 'Dave' Bressie & Florence V. Pace. (Both parents buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery)

?BRESSIE, EUGENIA No dates. Infant daughter of Joseph David 'Dave' Bressie & Florence V. Pace.
