The James HALL family (James, Martha, Joshua, William, Olivar, Sauna/Sarena, and John) appear in the 1850 Dade County census. In 1860, James HALL is missing from the household. James HALLs wife, Martha, probably married Avery COUCH between 1850 and 1860. The family appears in the Dade County census as the Martha COUCH family (Martha COUCH, and Josiah, William, Oliver, Catherine, John, and Franklin HALL). Lindley COUCH was a neighbor in 1860. Soon thereafter, Martha COUCH and the HALL children moved to Oregon County, Missouri. Would like to exchange information with anyone with an interest in these HALL and COUCH families

STITES or STILES Seeking to correspond with anyone having a STITES or STILES connection to their Dade Co. family. David Stites was a minister of a Baptist Church in Dade Co. 1848. He had been married 3 times and brought a number of children with him shown on the 1850 census. These children must have married in Dade. As the marriage records do not exist for this period, the only hope of tracing his children is through private records. David was gone from Dade Co. by 1850 and living in the Gentry Co., Mo. region. Most of his children must have remained behind as only the younger ones show up in Northern MO.
