He was a twin brother to Rufus Ulysus Dicus. Robert died of Pneumonia, following Flu on 17 February 1937 in Weslaco, Hidalgo Co., TX, and was buried beside his wife Nancy on 19 February 1937 in Ebony Grove Cemetery, Mercedes TX. Robert & Nancy farmed Caddo & Kenefic, OK, and in Portales, Roosevelt Co, NM, moving in 1918 to the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, where they lived out their lives.
He married Nancy Evelyn Talley, daughter of Dr. Henry Harmon Talley and Saphronia Josephine Murdock on her birthday 28 July 1892 in Whitesboro, Grayson Co., TX. Nancy was born on 28 July 1873 in Petersburg, Lincoln Co., TN. She died after a long illness on 08 July 1927 in Edcouch, Hidalgo Co., TX. According to her mother Nancy had been baptized in the Christian Church in 1860 in Marshall Co., TN. She was a devout Christian. She was musically talented and played both piano and violin. She was buried on 10 July 1927, in Ebony Grove Cemetery, Mercedes, TX, beside her granddaughter Mary Duke.

John died of a stroke on 02 April 1994 in Harlingen, Cameron Co., TX, and was buried beside his parents on 05 April 1994, in Ebony Grove Cemetery, Mercedes, Hidalgo Co., TX.
He married (1) Norma Edith Lee, January 1939 in Holdenville, OK. Norma born 15 July 1919 in Henrietta, Oklahoma. She was a waitress and Resturant Manager, Both in the Rio Grande Valley and in Houston where she spent her last years. She was a Southern Baptist. She died 23 June 1996 in Houston, Harris Co., TX. Norma was cremated and her ashes scattered in her favorite fishing spot in the Gulf of Mexico. Johnny married second (2) Zelma maiden name is not known about 1954. They were divorced.
