First Generation

1. George C. PATTON was born 1800 in Springfield, Center, Pennsylvania. He died Feb 1845 in Barton County, Missouri and was buried Feb 1845 in Cedarville, Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri.

George Patton's parents moved from Pennsylvania to St. Louis, Missouri when he was about 3 years old (in about 1803) and after resided there a few years and then moved Franklin County, Missouri.

He received his education in St. Louis, Missouri and afterward went to Texas where he taught school a few years. He then married and they resided in Greene County, Missouri for one year and then moved to Dade County, Missouri where they were among the early settlers of Dade County, Missouri.

George married Talphenis LEEPER, daughter of James LEEPER and Ruth LONG, on 1826 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Talphenis was born 20 Apr 1802 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. She died 5 Aug 1885 in Cedarville, Dade County, Missouri.

They had the following children:

3 M ii. Olivian "Oliver" John G. PATTON was born 1830 in Tipton County, Tennessee.

4 M iii. Warren Joseph PATTON was born 1832 in Tipton County, Tennessee.

5 F iv. Nancy J. PATTON was born 1836 in Tipton County, Tennessee. She died 2 Jun 1868 in Cedarville, Dade County, Missouri and was buried 3 Jun 1868 in Cedarville, Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri.

MARRIAGE: Nancy J. Patton never married.

6 M v. Joseph A. PATTON was born 9 Sep 1837 in Tipton County, Tennessee. He died 24 Jun 1903 in Cedarville, Dade County, Missouri and was buried 26 Jun 1903 in Cedarville, Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri.

Joseph in 1862 enlisted in the Army in Company G, 14th Missouri Militiary and then to the 8th Missouri Military and served until the close of the war in 1865.

MARRIAGE: Joseph A. Patton never married.

7 M vi. John M. PATTON was born 1839 in Tipton County, Tennessee. He died 23 Jun 1907 in Cedarville, Dade County, Missouri and was buried 25 Jun 1907 in Cedarville, Cemetery, Dade County, Missouri.

John Patton in 1861 enlisted as a Private in Company K 25th Reg't Missouri Infantry Union Army in the Civil War. On November 4, 1861 he accidently shot himself in the left hand and lost his fingers of his left hand. John was discharged from the Army on June 23, 1862.

MARRIAGE: Joseph A. Patton never married.

8 F vii. Martha Browning Elizabeth PATTON was born 11 Apr 1845 in Tipton County, Tennessee. She died 16 Aug 1936 in Richland, Missouri.

Second Generation

2. James L. PATTON (George C.) was born 1828 in Tipton County, Tennessee. He died 1864 in Dade County, Missouri.

James married Arominty Sarah Angeline AKEMAN on 2 Nov 1852 in Crawford County, Missouri. Arominty was born May 1835 in Tennessee. She died 19 Jul 1907 in Arcola, Dade County, Missouri.

Few years after the death of her husband James L. Patton, Arominty met E. Owins and they were planning to get married when suddenly he died in 1869. Arominty then was carrying his child. On June 10, 1869 Arominty give birth to twins (boy & girl) and she named the twins Thomas & Mary Ella. Arominty gave the children the Patton last name to avoid scandal of having children illegitimately (children born out of wedlock) which was very look down upon in that day.

James and Arominty had the following children:

10 M ii. William H. PATTON was born 5 Sep 1854 in Dade County, Missouri. He died 7 Jan 1902 in Carter, Springer County, Oklahoma and was buried 9 Jan 1902 in Methodist Church, Cemetery, Springer County, Oklahoma.

11 M iii. James R. PATTON was born 9 Apr 1856 in Dade County, Missouri. He died 9 Apr 1927 in Carter, Springer County, Oklahoma and was buried 11 Apr 1927 in Methodist Church, Cemetery, Springer County, Oklahoma.

12 M iv. John Thomas PATTON was born 15 Jan 1859 in Dade County, Missouri. He died 17 Apr 1930 in Carter, Springer County, Oklahoma and was buried 19 Apr 1930 in Methodist Church, Cemetery, Springer County, Oklahoma.

John Thomas Patton's nickname was "Crooked John".

DEATH: John Patton died from injuries he received in a car wreck. He was at age 71.

13 F v. Mary Ella PATTON was born 1860 in Dade County, Missouri. She died before 1927.

14 M vi. Seigle P. PATTON was born 4 Mar 1863 in Dade County, Missouri. He died 18 Dec 1934 in Carter, Springer County, Oklahoma and was buried 20 Dec 1934 in Methodist Church, Cemetery, Springer County, Oklahoma.

1. Arominty Sarah Angeline AKEMAN was born May 1835 in Tennessee. She died 19 Jul 1907 in Arcola, Dade County, Missouri and was buried 20 Jul 1907 in Hickory Grove, Cemetery, Near Arcola, Missouri.

8. Thomas PATTON (Arominty Sarah Angeline) was born 10 Jun 1869 in Arcola, Dade County, Missouri. He died 25 Mar 1950 in Arcola, Dade County, Missouri and was buried 27 Mar 1950 in Pleasant Grove, Cemetery, Near Arcola, Missouri.

BIRTH: Thomas was born as a twin. His other twin was his sister Mary Ella.

Thomas married Lucy Alice GILLEN, daughter of Sanford Allen GILLEN and Susan UNDERWOOD, on 2 Nov 1898 in Crisp Community, Missouri. Lucy was born 10 Dec 1874 in Arcola, Dade County, Missouri. She died 17 May 1972 in Lockwood, Nursing Home, Lockwood, Missouri.
