Note: William Buxton, sr., and wife, Rachel Trail
Buxton, both from Kentucky came to Lexington, Mo., in
1836. A year later, 1837, the family settled in Clay
County, Mo., near Missouri City. All that remains of
a once well kept family resting place are the three
gravestones mentioned above although other members of
the family are buried there.
