George Mock's Will:
I, George Mock of Colerain Township Bedford County Pa. being of sound mind, memory, understanding and considering the uncertainty of life do hereby make, publish, pronounce and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner & form following to wit.
First - I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid, & in order to effect this my executors hereinafter named are requested to sell so much of my personal property as may be necessary for the payment of the same.
Second - I give and bequeath to my wife Mary all my property both real and personal after the payment of the debts and funeral expenses aforesaid to have and to hold, the same during her natural life, provided she so long remain my widow and make good use of the property not wasting the same.
Third - The children are to be supported by my wife until they arrive at the age of 21 years.
Fourth - If my wife should misuse or destroy the property or should marry again and at all events upon her decease then all my personal property and real estate shall be divided equally among my seven children, to wit, Jacob, Rachel, intermarried with Jesse Ash, Sarah, John, Catherine, Mary & Margaret share and share alike. The children to have the privilege of dividing the personal property among themselves if they can agree upon a division of the same & if not to be sold by my executors and the proceeds to be divided as aforesaid. The children also to have the privilege of agreeing to a division of the real estate among themselves or to agree to a sale of the same if they can effect such an agreement & if not then the real estate may be sold under a writ of partition & the proceeds divided as before directed. This is not to prevent any of the heirs from taking the property at the appraisement. Fifth - I hereby constitute and appoint my wife Mary Executrix and my son Jacob Executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this third day of Sept. A. D. one thousand eight hundred & forty-six.

Petition for Partition of George Mock's Property:
February Term 1874

To the Honorable the Judges of the Orphans Court of Bedford County, the petition of Jacob Mock, a son of George Mock late of Colerain Township deceased respectfully represents that the said George Mock died in the month of July 1857 having first made his will in writing wherein and whereby he directed that after the death of his wife Mary Mock his real estate should be appraised and sold but direct also that his children might agree to a sale without an appraisement and that the widow the said Mary has lately died and an effort made to get the heirs to agree to a sale which has failed that the said George Mock died seized in his demesne as of fee of and in a certain messuage and tract of land situated in said Township of Colerain bounded by lands of Thompson Shafer, James Roling, J. W. Tate, William Smith, Valentine Miller, John Oster, Paul Wertz' heirs containing three hundred and twenty one acres net more or less with appertance and leaving surviving him seven children viz Jacob Mock, Rachel a deceased daughter's child Mary Catherine Ash, John Mock, Sarah wife of Jesse Ash, Catherine wife of William Rose, Mary wife of Benj. Fredricks, and Margaret who was wife Frank Frederick all residing in Bedford County, that by of the said will and under the intestate law I belong to the said above named children to have the above described property equally divided between them. The petitioner therefore prays the Court to award and inquest to value and appraise the said real estate and he will ever pray

In the name of God amen I Jacob Heckman of Colerain township in the County of Bedford, and State of Pennsylvania being weak in body and of sound mine and memery and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and publish this my last will and testament in manour and fourm following to wit First it is my will and (?) order that all my just Debts and funeral expences be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently be after my death. Item 2d I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sally one bed one cow togather with such of my houshold furniture and kitchen utensils as she may chose to keep for her (?) 3 I give and bequeath unto my said wife the use and occupations of my plantation until my youngest son Joseph Heckman shall attain the age of twenty one years she mentaning and educating my miner children thereof and (?) and after his arrival at the age of twenty one years then I gave and devise the said plantation unto my four sons Isaack Heckman Jacob Heckman John and Joseph Heckman forever. They paying thereout unto my other children herein after named the several sums of money to them respectfully bequathed and also paying unto my said wife the third of all the yearly profits of my plantation from year to year during her natural life for her mantanence and suport all wich ? to my said wife I do hereby declare to be in lieu and stead of her dower at commen law and in case of her deth the said four suns Isaack, Jacob, John and Joseph Heckman to divide keep or sell as they think proper my plantation or tract of land to such person or persons and for such price or prices as may be reasonabel ? for the same and for that purpose I do herebyh authorize and empower my said ? an the surviver of them to sign seal excute and acknowledge all such deed or deeds of ? as may be required and ? for the graning and ifsuing the same to the purchaser thereof in fee simple 4th I do order and direct an bequeath unto my Eldest daughter Modlena Shaw thirty dollars I give a bequeth unto Elizabeth Chauvner my second daughter the sum of thirty dollars I gave and bequeath unto Maria Mouke the sum of forty dollars I gave and bequath to Saria Hoon foreth daughter forty dollars I gave and bequeth unto my fifth daughter Rachel Heckman single woman the sum of seventy dollars I gave and bequeth unto my sixth daughter Rebecka Heckman her mentainance for Life out of my ? her life time by my four suns during her life time I gave and bequeth unto my daughter Catherine Paxton her daughter Catherine Paxton the sum of thirty dollars all to be paid after one year after my son Joseph Heckman becomes of age of twenty one years 5th I do order and direct Isaack Heckman and Salley Heckman my beloved wife to be my Execters of this my last Will and Testament and gave them all the power above described will as my desire and mine as witnefs (?) hereunto the said Jacob Heckman has hereunto set his hand and seal this 2nd day of August one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.
