From V. Wright - Laurie Aubrey's ongoing research centered on a book containing the records of the Reformed Church at Shippinsburg, PA in which he found that Michael & Susanna Charlotte Maluch were sponsors for the baptisms of Susanna Charlotte, 29 Mar 1799 and Elizabeth 30 Oct 1800, dau. of Michael & Margretha Mauch.

At the time of her family's sojourn from PA to OH, Susanna Charlotte, the dau. would have been 27/28 yrs. old, however the above referenced church record provides the only background to her connection with the Michael/Margaretha Mauch family. No clue to her adult life - resided In PA or elsewhere: married and had family of her own.

A brother, George (Mauck)Mock seems to have escaped the recording pens of history: no inscribed birth record or of his adult life. However a Franklin Co. Genealogical Soc. library index car bearing his name & the following info: Franklin Co., Probate Court, Case 2066, year 1849, Guardianship records: His modest witness that he was one time a resident of that county in OH. Similar library index cards for other members of that family whose residence there has been proved lend a smattering of support to my theory concerning George.

From Columbia Co., PA Church records of the 18th Century by Edward Wright. (The German Reformed Church at Shippensburg, a list of Communicants eight days before Pentecost, on May 24, 1800, listed is Michael Maack & wife, Susanna Charlotte.

An 1830 Clinton Twp., Franklin Co., OH census enumeration for a Michael Mock & wife, age group 20/30 was found. The above age group would tend to support the occurrence of his birth sometime between 1800 & 1810.
A state of mystery seems to pervade the whereabouts of Catherine (1.5.5) & John (1.5.6)

1806 - Michael Mock Jr. purchased for $1800 a tract of land known as Emsworth (Southampton Twp., Franklin Co, PA) (7/380-81) L. Aubrey

1824 - Michael Mock purchased for $527 42 1/2 (£ ?) 100 + acres in Southampton Twp (13/453). Note: None of these deeds mentions his wife and I have no copies of deeds showing the sale of PA properties. L. Aubrey
Michael married a Catherine O'Farrell in 1851. Joseph vouched for him. Interesting to note: in 1836 James O'Ferrell and wife Catherine sold a farm to Michael Mock, Jr.

1.5.7 - Jacob and Catherine Markley Mock were granted legal guardianship of Catherine Siebert & brother, John Siebert. These were the children of Mary Ann Markley, sister of Catherine - D. Crabtree

1.5.7.1 - Michael Mock, son of Jacob and Catherine Markley Mock served in Civil War, enlisted 20 Aug 1861, Co. A, 2nd reg., OH Vol. He was wounded in Battle of Chicamuga, GA 20 Sep 1863 & discharge 29 Jan 1864. On 16 Dec 1865 he was injured in a hunting accident when a gun exploded in his face. Admitted to State Insane Asylum 16 Feb 1868 and died there 8 Jun 1868. Was divorced from Mary L. Ream 26 May 1868. D. Crabtree & V. Wright.

1.5.7.2 - Jacob Mock, son of Jacob & Catherine Markley Mock was a farmer and lived in Dublin, Franklin Co., OH. (Was Washington Twp., Amlin, OH. D. Crabtree

1.5.7.2.4 - Allen H. Mock, grandfather of Dorothy Crabtree, lived in Dublin, OH on Wilcox Rd. in the family homestead which no longer stands. He worked on the railroad until he retired. D. Crabtree

1.5.7.2.4.3 - George Allen Mock father of D. Crabtree, served in WWII. Enlisted 29 Jan 1943 & discharged 14 Jan 1946. Served with Corp of Engineers Unit in Pacific combat Zone in Japan. He married Sylvia Youngblood and they live in Jerome, OH.

1.5.B. - Margaret (Sarah) Mock - Info from Vern Wright: Ohio State Journal, 1 Sep 1831, stated that Sarah Ann, dau. of John Vorys, had died 27 Aug 1831 at the age of 13 months. This suggested that John & Margaret should be in the 1830 census. (not found). 1850 census-found Margaret Vorhees, two daughters and Fletcher Mock (son of Samuel/Catherine Mock), who was orphaned by the death of his mother in 1846. Margaret Vorhees was found in the household of her dau., Margaret J. Chapin in the 1860 census.

1.5.A - Mary A. Mock Parr - Obituary 30 Dec 1906 - Came to Columbus, OH at age 5 (1827) with her family. Was the last to die of 12 children. They walked all the way from Carlisle, PA. She recalled when her father obtained the right of way in 1835 and constructed Mock Road, which is named after him.
