Christian County (38 reels)
Organized March 8, 1859, from Greene, Taney and Webster Counties and named for Christian County, Kentucky which had been named for Revolutionary War soldier, William Christian. County seat: Ozark 65721. Courthouse burned in 1865.

Clerk of the County Court: Register of births and stillbirths, 1883-1889 [Note: very useful when recorded, but a small percentage of actual births during this period, none of them after 1886] ; Record of births, 1840-1904 [Note, fewer than half a dozen families took advantage of this opportunity to have children's births listed]; State census, 1876; Land assessment records 1868-1875 and 1881-1885.

Hall, William K., Dr. Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, Newspaper Clippings 1939 - 1991, with gaps during World War II, Indexes. 55 rolls. Consists primarily of engagement, marriage and birth announcements; obituaries and other materials of genealogical interest. Covers a large area in southwest Missouri. Especially useful is the single index covering 1953 - 1991.

Independent Order of Odd Fellows
2 rolls. Nixa Lodge 1898 - 1909 and Ozark Lodge 1869 - 1931 (mostly 1901 - 1927). Nixa is indexed and available on-line at Christian County Transcribed Records website. Ozark will be transcribed. Original books belong to the Christian County Museum. Microfilm can be viewed at the Christian County Library or the Western Historic Manuscript Collection, Rolla.
