The almost indistinguishable inscription on the above picture reads, "Old Court House, Ozark, built 1867, replaced 1914 by "New." Actually, construction of the new court house was delayed by World War I and it was not ready for occupancy until 1920. The present court house, below, was built at a cost of $85,000 - a bond issue of $75,000 and $10,000 provided by private subscription.
