Gibson, who died at his country home, five miles northeast of Harrisonville, on Wednesday, July 26, 1922, was held at the family residence last Thursday afternoon, July 27, at 1:30 o’clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. King Stark, a former pastor of the Harrisonville Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. Edward L. Armstrong, present pastor of that church. The Rev. Mr. Stark now resides at Richmond, Ray County, Missouri, from which place he was called about a yaer ago, on a similar mission, to conduct the funeral of Mrs. Robert L. (Kittie) Gibson, the sister-in- law of Young F. Gibson. These ministers were further assisted by the Rev. Romans Smith, pastor of the Christian Church at Belton,Mo., and the Rev. Phil Stark, also of Richmond, and pastor of the Christian Church of Lawson, Mo. The immense crowd of old friends and neighbors, who were in attendance at the funeral, bore testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The music at the services was furnished by a quartette from the Harrisonville Christian Church, composed of Miss Edith Giltner, soprano; Mrs. H.V. Hurst, alto; LeRoy Shields, tenor, and W.F. Wolfe, bass. The body of Mr. Gibson was taken to the cemetery at Lee’s Summit, Mo. for interment. Mr. Gibson was nearly 62 years of age, and had resided on the farm where his death occurred, for 55 years. ********************************************* USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
