Gibson Young Fowler Gibson died at his home seven miles southwest of Pleasant Hill, Wednesday morning, July 26, 1922, aged 61 years, nine months and 10 days. His health had been precarious for some months and a few weeks in a Kansas City hospital confirming the verdict of the local physician, he was brought home where among familiar scenes, with unremitting care from his two daughters, the only remaining members of his immediate family; with sympathizing efforts from innumerable friends, content to die amid surroundings which had known his presence for many years, he passed into the presence of Him who doeth all things well. The two daughters who survive are the Misses Constantia and Archer Gibson, the wife and mother having preceded the father by something more than 18 years. She as Miss Mary Virginia Bradley became the wife of Mr. Gibson November 30, 1893. As a small boy Mr. Gibson came with his widowed mother and younger brother to the old home where more than half a century of his life was spent in the midst of timbered acres, road meadows and fertile fields which he loved and his going will leave a desolate vacancy. His funeral was conducted at his late residence Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. King Stark, of Richmond, Mo., as officiating minister, and burial was in the Lee’s Summit Cemetery by the side of the loved ones who have gone before.
