BATTO, BOYD posted by Charlotte Berry on Tuesday, December 9, 1997

I am looking for information on BOYD family. My greatgrandfather was Joseph William Boyd who was born about 1856 in Cape Girardeau. The names of his parents are unknown. I have been told that his parents may have been killed in an Indian attack when Joe was very young. I also believe that his mother was Indian. Joe may also have left Missouri with a Perry BATTO ( possibly his nephew) and headed for Texas. Joe is on the 1880 census in Texas and eventually moved to Arkansas where he died in 1917. He married Margaret Fox. Does anyone know anything about his parents or other relatives in the Missouri area? Please contact me.
