SURNAMES: SANDER, GRUMBRECHT/UMBECK, VOGELSANG
QRYTEXT:
Attempting to tie up some loose ends in our SANDER line.
Specifically
looking for immigration and possibly other early family members
and their
descendents for the following described SANDER line.
Search is focused in Cape Girardeau County where my SANDER line
first
settled.
The following is known: Heinrich SANDER immigrated from Gross
Rueden(sp),
Hannover likely before 1850 - Heinrich, his wife and at least
one child
(perhaps there were others) Carl or Charles J. SANDER, settled
in the
vicinity of Tilsit, Cape Girardeau Co.. Carl or Charles J. was
my
gggrandfather.. He eventually moved from Cape Co to Scott Co..
Both
Heinrich & his wife died in Scott Co.. The above information
has been
extracted from records of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott Co..
Carl/Charles J. married first in MITILDA GRUMBRECHT (perhaps
UMBECK) in
Cape Co. on or about 26 June 1853 - one child, AUGUST (Married
Anna
HEEB), was born to this marriage and the marriage likely ended
with the
death of Mitilda because Carl/Charles next married HENRIETTE
VOGELSANG on
30 May 1856 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau Co., Missouri.
She died 21
August 1871 in Scott County. Children of this marriage included
the
following:
FRIEDRICH JULIUS SANDER, b. 18 April 1857, Near Tilsit, Cape
Girardeau
County, Missouri; d. 17 October 1939, Fornfelt, (Scott City),
Scott
County, Missouri.
LENA OR CAROLINE SANDER, b. 16 September 1858, Missouri.
AUGUSTE SANDER, b. 13 September 1860, Cape Girardeau, Cape
Girardeau
County, Missouri; d. 16 May 1907, Scott County Missouri.
DOROTHEA SANDER, b. 25 February 1865.
HEINRICH SANDER, b. 17 April 1867, Cape Girardeau County,
Missouri.
CARL SANDER, b. 12 August 1869, Scott County Missouri; d. 19
August 1869.
After his second wife's death (HENRIETTE SANDER nee' VOGELSANG)
Carl/Charles J. married [____] BETHE Bef. 1873. She died 04
March 1873
in Scott County.
Hope someone can shed some light on this line - SANDER(S), as
you know,
is a very common name in the area of Scott & Cape Counties.
Any help will be appreciated.

grandfather,
Gottlieb LANDL and his wife born Rosalie LETTNER, came from
Schladming,
Steiermark, Austria to Missouri and bought farm land near New
Wells, MO.
They were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.
About 1898 they moved to Kirkwood, MO and sold their land to the
Winter's
family I think. That farm is now part of the Missouri
Conservation Area
near New Wells.
I enjoy sharing research with any LANDL relatives.
