Did this minister marry your ancestors?? Benjamin Winchester LAUDERDALE, Church of Christ minister, traveled in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, 1868-1892, establishing new churches and nursing weak churches. I would like to chronicle his travels by following the baptism, marriages he performed or pulpits he preached from. I would like to receive information on dates, places and people involved. (He is my gg grandfather) Obituary: Dr. B. W. Lauderdale was born in Sumner County, Tenn., June 30, 1831 and died in Shelby County, October 15, 1895. being reared by a noble Christian mother, he united with the Church of Christ at age sixteen. he graduated from the Louisville Medical College in 1853 and practiced medicine until after the war. He was married in 1860 to Miss Mary C. Taylor, of Tennessee, with whom he lived happily for more than thirty-five years, and who still lives to mourn his loss. He entered the Confederate service as a surgeon in 1862 and served till the close of the war without losing a day for sickness or leave of absence, surrendering under General Forrest, May 28, 1865. He began preaching in 1868, and remained actively in the ministry until death, allowing nothing to keep him from his master's work. he lived to bless humanity. he was always charitable and generous even to a fault. His skill and experience as a physician made his life, as a minister a double blessing for the sick. Though he gave up the practice of medicine on entering the ministry, his life continued to be largely given to the ministrations on the sick. During the awful yellow fever scourge of 1878, he gave himself for weeks and months wholly to nursing the sick and dying, regardless of personal safety and without hope of earthly compensation. For more than twenty-seven years he preached the gospel incessantly over a large area of six or seven states. he founded many churches, and is estimated to have brought into the master's fold no less than two thousand souls. He delighted to nurse weak churches into self-sustaining strength. His character was without spot or blemish in as high a degree as it seems possible for mortals to attain. His life, after his entrance into the ministry, was devoted and consecrated to the one great purpose of preaching the "unsearchable riches of Christ." His oft-expressed desire was to spend and to be spent for the Master. His faith in the promises of God was boundless. He said he had long since settled his eternal interests on an eternal basis. his life is now a ...........(remaining text lost)

Looking for information on the JACKSON family -- Hugh Thomas (or Thomas Hugh) was married to Mary Ann Gold of Stone County, and disappeared around 1882. Legend says that they found his corpse, but she refused to claim it. She is buried in a small graveyard on the Gold family farm. They had a son, William A. (Bud) Jackson (1881-1917), who married Minnie Maples and is buried in they graveyard of the Union Ridge Baptist Church.

I am searching for information on Roy PHILLIPS b. abt 1887 in Illinois. Married Dollie BIRCHFIELD around 1910/11. Died 1911. Roy and Dollie had one child, Clyde Leroy b. Nov 28 1911. Dollie died shortly thereafter. Roy was living with his brother James PHILLIPS according to the 1910 census. Any info at all will be helpfull.

Searching for parents of Thomas Pierce FRANKLIN, born 18 Sep 1862 in Missouri, I don't know where in Missouri. His wife's name was Mary Unknown. I have gone through every Missouri County Census for 1870 and can't find him. He would have been 7 or 8 years old in 1870. His death certificate listed his father as T. Franklin. My mother and her four siblings were born in Cass County. My mother's name is Maud Franklin, born 1894. Any help in locating Thomas Pierce Franklin's parents will be greatly appreciated. Thomas' brother, John, was in Bates County for a time.

Requesting info on Isaac SWALLOWS and family who came to Stoddard County, MO in the early 1880's from Daviess County, Indiana. Isaac's wife's maiden name was Mary Belle ORRENDER. Isaac was born @ 1838 in Tennessee and first shows up in Indiana in Daviess County in 1860. Isaac's children included Richard, Elijah, Sarah, Mary E., Catherine, Reuben, Delia and Charley Anderson. Isaac died soon after coming to Missouri. Mary Belle later remarried Livingston SCHOLES in 1885. Mary E. married John SHOEMATE (and moved to Butler County), Reuben married Cora CANADY, and Sarah married Ira SUMMERS. Charley Anderson (my g-grandfather) married Lula Ruth SWAN. Who were Isaac's parents? Can anyone help me?
