Vernon, Ill. Born March 23, 1881, in Owen County, Ind., she was married December 25, 1900, to the late John Sumpture at Fisk. She was a member of the Rebekahs and the Fisk General Baptist Church. Among the survivors are two sons, Kelley of Fisk, and Melvin Sumpture, Tulsa, OK; three daughters, Mrs. Rosie Overly, a resident of the State of Washington, Mrs. Bonita Robinson, a resident of the State of Louisiana, and Mrs. Edith Webb, St. Louis, and 20 grandchildren. Also remaining and a brother, Henry Miller, Kentucky, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarepa Davidson, Louisiana, and Mrs. Nary Turley, Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Fisk General Baptist Church with the Rev. Oden Coats officiating. Malden- funeral services fro Miss Liza Jane Hill, a 94-hear-old resident of Butler County, died Tuesday in the Doctors Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Broseley Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Mole Hill Cemetery. A resident of Butler County for 50 years, Miss Hill was born August 11, 1840 in Decatur County, Tenn. She was a member of the Prospect Missionary Baptist Church near Decatur, Tenn. Mrs. hill had been residing in the Stroud Nursing Home at Qulin. he is survived by three cousins, Mrs. Lucille Akers and Mrs Ruby Allen of Broseley and Tom Gulledge of Corning. Landess services. Funeral services for John William Berry, who died Saturday at his home in Williamsville, were held at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Williamsville Christian Church with the Rev. Roy LeGrand and the Rev. W.R. Simpson officiating. Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of the Greer Croy and Fitch Funeral Chapel. The pallbearers, were five sons and one brother. E. d. Gilliham of Fisk. Born March 20. 1886 in Illinois, she had been a resident of Butler county for 45 years. Other survivors include two step-sons, Bill of Granite City, Ill., and Jess of Mt. Carmel, Ill., eight daughters, Mrs. Effie Smith of Fagus, Mrs. Edna Gulledge and Mrs. Opal Wright both of Poplar Bluff, Mrs. Mildred Sanderson and Mrs. Margie Wilkerson both of Fisk, Mrs. Pearl Brannon of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Alberta Paul of Crete, Ill., and Mrs. Mamie Sanderson of Tiptonville, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs Emma Jenkins of Rochester, Mich. 57 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Ash Hill General Baptist Church with the Rev. Woodrow Peck officiating. Burial will be in the Ash Hill Cemetery. The time will be announced later. Holman, 77, a retired farmer of Rt. 1, Fisk, died unexpectedly Thursday at his home. He had lived in Butler County most of his life. Mrs. Holman was born on August 5, 1888, at El Dorado, Ill. The body is at the White Funeral Home in Fisk where funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of relatives. Twelve hundred persons attended funeral services conducted for the Rev. Oliver Green Swain at the high school gymnasium in Broseley on Sunday Afternoon. The Rev. Oden Coats and the Rev. J. f. Richardson were in charge of the funeral. Mr. Swain, passed away quite suddenly at his home on Christmas night. He was pastor of Webb General Baptist church and had spent 41 years of active ministry for General Baptists. He is survived by his wife, Flora, plus eight children and their families. the children are Walter, Carl, Ruth, Wilma, Evelyn, Betty, Deon and Charles. There were twenty-five grandchildren, and two sisters, mrs. Mary Morehead and Miss Nora Swain. Burial was in the Brown Chapel Cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - MANN, Elizabeth Mrs. Elizabeth Mann, a former resident of Dudley, who had been ill for several months, died last night in Glendale, Ariz., where she had been residing. She is survived by a son, Martin Mann of Glendale, Ariz,; and two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Williamson and Mrs. Gertrude Cozort both of Poplar Bluff The body will be returned to the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home at Dexter and funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Chapel. Turnbaugh, 80-year-old retired farmer, died at his home at Piedmont at 8 yesterday afternoon. Born in Wayne county October 9, 1882 he married the late Lilly C. Nation who preceded him in death. Survivors include four sons, Ray of St. Louis, Lee of Fredricktown, James of Piedmont and Earl Turnbaugh of Mill Springs; eight daughters, Mrs. Belle Boyer and Mrs. Aileen Faulkner of Piedmont, Mrs. Edna Reynolds of Granite City, Ill., Mrs. Mable Smith, Mrs Dorothy Armstrong, Mrs. Millie Cline and Mrs. Mae Pracht, all of St. Louis, and Mrs Alma yates of Overland; 53 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. The Rev. W.W. handy and the Rev. P. J. Fraizer will officiate at services to be held at the First Baptist church in Piedmont at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon with burial in the Carson ... Cemetery. Brandon, died at the Lucy Lee Hospital yesterday afternoon after 10 weeks illness of a malignant ailment. She was born Nov. 1, 1900, in Uniontown,Ky., and had resided here 38 years. She was married July 7, 1939, to Dr. Brandon in Chicago, Ill. she was a member of the St. Ann Altar Society; and organist at the Sacred heart Catholic Church for years; member of the Tri-County Medical Society auxiliary, and a member of the Sacred heart Catholic church. She leaves her husband, Dr. Brandon; three brothers and two sisters; Herman Stewart of St. Louis, Mrs. Eula Van Duyne of Wilmington, Ill., Miss Virgil Stewart of Poplar Bluff, W.A. (Biney) Stewart and Joe C. Stewart of Poplar bluff. Rosary services will be at Frank-Cotrell Chapel tonight at 8:30 and funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. James Huelster of St. Louis, a close friend of the family and pastor of St. John the Baptist church of St. Louis will say the Requiem High Mass, and Msgr.
