Malden--Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Mae Kennedy, 81, a resident of Broseley who died Saturday at the General Baptist Rest Home in Campbell, were held at 2 p., today in the Brown Chapel Church near Broseley with the Rev. Oden Coats conducting the services Burial was in the Brown Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Kennedy, born April, 21, 1882, near Fredricktown, was married to Edward M. Kennedy who preceded her in death in 1956. The survivors include two sons, the Rev. Roy Kennedy and Floyd Kennedy of Malden; tow daughters, Mrs. pearl Hindricks of Poplar Bluff and Mrs. Vivian Zolman of Chicago, Ill,; 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandhcild. Landess of Malden services -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CULBERTSON W.T., RETIRED FARMER DIED YESTERDAY Wille Troy Culbertson 76, a retired farmer of Route 1, Fisk, died yesterday in the Poplar Bluff Hospital. He had been a resident of Butler county for 18 years, formerly living in Stoddard. He was born November 17, 1892 in Stoddard and was married November 15,1968 to Rosie Landrith in Butler county. He is survived by his widow, on son, W. V. Culbertson, Cottage Hills, Ill., one sister Lulla Triffy, Gray Ridge, MO., on half sister, Iva Peters, Crofford, Mich. and four grandchildren. Services will be in the White's Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Donald Black, burial will be in the Bernie cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home, Fisk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ATCHINSON Ethel Laura MOTHER OF 13 CHILDREN DIES TUESDAY Mrs. Ethel Laura Atchinson, a resident of 609 Marion Avenue, died Tuesday in St. Louis where she had gone over the weekend for a visit with her children. Mrs. Atchison had been in ill health for the past three months, but became seriously ill after going to St. Louis. She was born at Winona March 11, 1893, in Shannon County and had been a lifelong resident of Missouri. She had resided in Poplar Bluff for the past 10 years. On November 9, 1913, she was married to Ben Atchinson at Pulltight, MO., who preceded her in death. She was a member of the General Baptist Church. Surviving are 13 children: Oscar and Joe Atchison of Fort Branch, Ind., earl Atchison of Malden, Eugene Atchison of Lees Summit, MO., Clyde Atchison of Poplar Bluff, Lyndell Atchison of Richmond, Ind., Franklin Atchison of St. Louis, Mrs. Clara Barney and Mrs. Daisy Bisi of Connecticut, Mrs. Violet Riggs of Lilburn and Mrs. Opal Alexander. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MANN, Henry William Dexter, Funeral services for William Henry Mann, 78-year-old retired farmer who died September 23, will be held at 2 tomorrow in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Turner, Troy, MO., officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. A. M. Norten of this city. Burial will be at Ash Hill. Pallbearers will be members of the Odd Fellow Lodge of Dexter. Mr. Mann had lived around Fisk and Dudley since 1904. About two years ago he went to Arizona, He returned about three weeks ago. He was born at McLeansboro, Ill., March 4, 1875. On March 4, 1896 he was married to Elizabeth Jones at McLeansboro. He was a member of the I.O.O. F. Lodge, joining at Fisk in 1821 and transferring to Dexter in 1947. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow, the following children, Mrs. Myrtle Williamson, Mrs. Gertude Cozart of Poplar Bluff and Martin Mann of Glendale, AZ.; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Fisk- Jesse Edwin Stucker, 81-year-old retired farmer, died at his home in Fisk Saturday. He was born in Miami, Ind., June 5, 1878, but had been a resident of Butler county most of his life. He married Ida Ellen Martin in 1901. She survives. Also surviving are four sons' Lynn, Eli and Charles Stucker, all of California, and John Stucker of Poplar Bluff; nine daughters; Mrs. Anne Davidson and Mrs. Elsa Smith, both of California, Mrs. Elizabeth Welch of St. Louis, Mrs. Helen Hillis of Hawaii, Mrs Mildren Arnold of Poplar Bluff, Mrs. Laura Layton of Arnold., MO., Mrs Minnie Hayes o fPoplar Bluff, Mrs. Bertha Williams andMrs. Wanda Williams, both of Michigan; 40 grandchildren; a brother, William Stucker of Oregon, and sister, Mrs. Clara Asa of Canalou Services will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon in the Fisk General Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev., Odgen Coats, Burial will be in Brown Chapel cemetery under direction of the White Funeral Home of Fisk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PARKER Leaman Dies in hospital, services Friday, Leaman Parker, 71-year-old retired farmer of Fisk, died Jan. 8. in the Lucy Lee Hospital after an illness of three weeks. He had been a resident of Butler county all his life. Born May 16, 1891, at Blue Springs, (now Junland) he was married Nov. 3 1912, to the former Miss Mary Mandy McIntosh at Fisk. In addition to his wife he leaves two sons, Charles of Fisk and Paul Parker, Memphis, TN.; two daughters, Mrs. Christine Shain, Fisk, and Mrs. Arvilla McGowen, Blythesville, ARk.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a half-brother, Erastus Jones, Fisk. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fisk Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Fred Mallot will officiate and burial will be in the Shain Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Whites' Funeral Home. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WATERS Mary Mrs. Mary Ella Waters, who resided at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Josie Wilkerson near Fisk, died at 3:30 the afternoon of Feb.24 after being ill two weeks. She spent her entire life in this county. Mrs Waters was born Sept, 19. 1893 and was married to Frank Waters, who survives She also leaves three sons, Ben and harrison of Fisk, Luther of St. Louis; four daughters, Josie of Dudley, Myrtle Palmer of Fisk, Gladys Morgan of Fisk and Mable Waters of Fisk. Surviving also are 22 grand children and 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, George Williamson of E. St. Louis and John Williamson of Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 2 Saturday afternoon at the Fisk General Baptist Church, the Rev. Wayne Wagster officiating. Shain, prominent Fisk business man for many years, died at the Lucy Lee Hospital at 8 last night after being seriously ill several days. He had been in ill health from a heart condition for the past six months, necessitating his retirement from active business live. He was associated with is father in mercantile business since 1909. His father died 16 years ago and since then he has continued in the grocery business until recently when his health failed. He was born near Eldorado, Ill., Oct. 27 1892 and had resided in this county 53 years. He was married Aug. 27, 1914, to Alice Hesselrode at Fisk, and was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge. He leaves his widow, one son, Kenneth, of Memphis, Tenn., and two daughters, Mrs. Christine Snider of Fisk and Mrs. VEsta Duggins of Shelbyville, Ill., four grandchildren, a brother, Marshall Shain of Fisk, and a sister, Elsie Reeder of Fisk. The body will be at the family home after 2 this afternoon. Funeral services will be at the Fisk Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Oden Coats in charge, at 2 Wednesday afternoon. Burial in Shain Memorial cemetery, White funeral service. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEBER Randolph (mile and a half long procession:---) Hundreds paid last respects to Judge Randolph Weber Here Hundreds of friends and acquaintances paid their final respects to U.S. District Judge Randolph H. Weber whose funeral services were conducted at the First Christian Church here yesterday afternoon. Nearly 1000 persons from all walks of life visited the Greer Croy and Fitch Chapel during visitation hours prior to the services yesterday, others overflowed the church to capacity and many more waited at the Memorial Gardens as the mile and a half long funeral procession entered the cemetery. The funeral was on of the largest ever held in Poplar Bluff Judge Weber, who would have been 52 years old yesterday, died at his home in Clayton thanksgiving afternoon from a heart seizure shortly after he and a son Phil Weber, and a friend had returned from a quail hunting trip into St. Louis County. U.S. District, Appellate Court and Circuit Court Judges from throughout Missouri and Illinois and other dignitaries were among the hundreds who attended services here. Dr. G. Curtis Jones, pastor of the Union Avenue Christian Church in St. Louis where Judge Weber had serves as an elder, and Dr. C.E.A. McKim, pastor of the First Christian Church here, officiated at the services directed by the Greer Croy and Fitch Undertaking Company -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- McGEE Eugene L who yesterday ended his own life rather than face future of threatening blindness. H. ex justice William Harve Petty, 79 year old retired farmer and a former Justice of the Peace at Broseley, and a resident of Butler County for 32 years, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Turnbough at Piedmont at 7 o'clock last night from a lengthy illness attributed to the infirmities of age. A native of Decator Tenn., where he was born. October 20, 1874, he formerly resided in Dunklin County where he had served as Justice of the Peace several years ago. He was Justice of the Peace at Broseley for several years and well known in the area. He was married in 1898 to Alice Corder at Malden. She died last January. Survivors include his daughter, four sons, Jess of Farmington, Clarence and homer of St. Louis and Floyd of Detroit, eight grandchildren and one niece, Mrs. Ella Guess of Broseley. The body was taken to the White Funeral Home at Fisk where it will remain until funeral services are held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Brown Chapel, The Rev. O.G. The Rev. Noah Mitchell will officiate and burial will be in the Shain Memorial Cemetery under the direction of White's Funeral Chapel. Born March 20, 1892 in Cooper County, MO., she had been ill for the past 10 days. She had lived in Butler county for the past 63 years. She was married June 16, 1910 to Henry Mosby who survives. Also remaining are five sons, James of Ohio, Clifford of California; W.V. Mosby, Fisk; Kenneth Mosby, Chicago, Ill., and three daughters, Mrs Lorean hayes, Fisk; Mrs. Auda Bland, California, and Mrs. Mary Lee Berry, Fisk. there are 23 grand children and three great grandchildren, as well as two brothers, William and Lester Piplins, both of Fisk. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Poplar Bluff Republican April 16, 1936 page 5 column 3 Friday Infant dies   Funeral services were conducted at 3 O'Clock this afternoon for the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kenney 1305 Benton Street.
