James Hubbert Mother: Military Information: Private, US Army, War of 1812 Resource: Regimental Histories of TN units during the War of 1812. Research Note: Matthew Hubbert served in Captain Simeon Perry's Company of Col. Samuel Wear's 1st Regiment East Tennessee Volunteer Militia in the War of 1812. On Nov. 18, 1813 the Regiment attacked a tribe of Creek Indians. Sixty-eight Creeks were killed and 250 taken prisoners. Most of the fighting was done by friendly Cherokee Indians. Ira C.
