MOONEY, PAYTON, SIMPSON, WILKERSON posted by Donna Cooper on Monday, December 15, 1997

America SIMPSON had these children: John SIMPSON (buried at Washburn Prairie Cemetery), Charlie Wilkerson, James Harvey MOONEY born 1877 at Washington, MO, and buried at Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Barry Co., MO, and a dt named Dovie who had a son by last name of PAYTON. There could be more children, but these are the only ones I know about. America SIMPSON lived near Roaring River at one time and was probably married to George Simpson about 1875. Can anyone help with this family? Jamie MOONEY was raised by Timpothy Patrick MOONEY and he did not know anything about his mother except her name was America SIMPSON. He was left with the MOONEY family at age 3 or 4. He did know about John SIMPSON and Charlie WILKERSON after he was an old man but did not know anything about his mother and said that he could not ever remember having seen her. On her death bed, his step-mother, told him that she was not his real mother - that his mother was named America SIMPSON - but that she had always loved him as her own. Do any of you have any SIMPSON data for George Simpson who once lived in Barry Co., MO that could shed some light on this mystery? If so - I would appreciate hearing from you.
