| Research Note | This is Sandy VanOrden Burton, from the Barry County Facebook page.
This is the photo my mom’s younger brother shared with me and other family members a few years back. My uncle still has the original. His dad would be my maternal grandfather, George H. Duncan. George’s parents were Albert E. Duncan and Viola Duncan who also lived in Barry County, and are now buried in Mineral Springs Cemetery along with other related Duncans and McCluers (Viola’s parents were Peter H. Duncan and Ruth McCluer). My grandpa George Duncan is the one in the newsboy hat to the left of the truck, none of the others have been identified. Here is what my uncle says about this one ('dad' would be my grandpa). This was when dad was a firefighter near Cassville Mo. Don't know when the picture was taken, Gene would know on that one. Dad is the second from the truck to our left. I think. **note a follow up email says it was 1942. Sandy Burton |
