Research Note Note added in 2010 - The lady seated in the middle is Thula Hilton Wilson (Mrs. Stephen F. Wilson) and standing on the right is Effie Hilton Wiley (Mrs. Willis Wiley).

Thula was the daughter of Alfred M. and Mary Ann (Russell) Hilton, raised near Mars Hill, and Effie was her first cousin, the daughter of John W. and Mary J. (Wilson) Hilton, and the first cousin of her husband Stephen.

The lady on the left is unidentified.

This photo is a tintype and was probably taken before Thula married in 1894 and Effie in 1897.

I welcome further identifications.

Note added in 2013 - The photo I submitted of Thula Hilton Wilson and Effie Wiley omits Thula's last names. The tintype, probably taken before 1894, is of three young women. The one seated in the middle is Thula Hilton Wilson (1876-1966), the daughter of Alfred M. Hilton and Mary Ann Russell Hilton from the Mars Hill-Osa area. Thula married Stephen F. Wilson, and they then moved into Stone County in the Hideout/Hilton Hollow community. The lady on the standing on the right is Effie Alice Hilton Wiley (1875-1958), the daughter of John W. Hilton and Mary Jane Wilson Hilton. Effie married Willis Wiley in 1897. Effie would have been a cousin to both Thula and Stephen F. Wilson.
