Research Note Stephen Francis Wilson Family, Barry Co., MO

The second photo is a cropped and touched up version of the first photo.

UPDATE - Message of 10/26/2009 -

I was a bit off on identification of people in the picture. I spoke with Stephen Blain Wilson, age 81 of Springfield. He is the grandson of the couple and the son of the little boy. Judy Wilson also of Springfield is Mr. Wilson's niece and has done much work on the Wilson family. Judy assisted me with the identification.

The people are: Stephen Francis Wilson (1854-1933), daughter Jewel Aeral Wilson Holderman (1895-1978), Thula Hilton Wilson (1876-1966), and the little boy is Francis Edward Wilson (1898-1987).

The two girls between are Ruth Frisbie (holding doll) and Mabel Frisbie, daughters of Pearlie Hilton Frisbie - Thula Hilton is their aunt.

I appreciate the editing on the photo. The posted copy was a scan of an original I received from a distant relative in McMinn County, Tennessee. He is a descendant of another sibling of Stephen Francis Wilson who remained in Tennessee.

The house was in Pierce Township and I believe was torn down. Stephen F. Wilson was a farmer. His sister was Laura Ellen Wilson Elliot who lived in Aurora, MO.
I believe the people to be Stephen Francis Wilson, daughter Helen Elizabeth, wife Thula (Hilton), Jewel Aeral, Francis Edward, and Ora.

If this information is correct, the youngest child was born in 1903 and died before 1910 - she appears to be about four years of age in the photo - taken circa 1907.

The Wilson family lived in Stone County and they are buried in Barry County.
Date Taken Taken about 1907
