My name is John Rosales, living in Colorado. I have been doing some genealogy research on my wife's family and have come across a situation involving some pictures that appear to have been taken around 1910 or so. These pictures were found in a box that was given to my wife by her aunts on her father's side.

I have had every family member I can think of look at these pics and absolutely no one recognizes anyone in the pictures.

Today I received an e-mail from my wife's cousin who lives in Benton, IL, and in it she sent a story that was written by one of her uncles. In it, he tells the story of his father and how he was orphaned, but taken in by a family named Horrell.

The head of the household was named Anson Horrell, and this father later named his youngest son after Anson. A long story short, in the process of telling the story, he mentions that Anson had a long, flowing white beard. in the afforementioned pictures, there is a man with a long flowing white beard, and I'm wondering now if these family photos might be the Horrell family members.

I researched death certificates in Missouri and found Anson and his wife Susan Louisa (Putnam) but they are under the last name of Harrell, not Horrell. I'm sure they are the same people, as everything else matches up.
