| Research Note | The Stringer brothers who were all in World War 2.
My grandmother, Anna "Annie" (Burris) Stringer (married to Joe) had a composite made of all their individual military photos. L to R - Front Row: George, Herchel "Bud" and Joseph, Jr. L to R - Back Row: Herman and Luke. It was rather amazing that all of Annie's boys came back from the war, and all of them saw combat. I am not sure about my uncles, but I know that my dad was injured in the Pacific, was shot in both legs. He talked about how he laid still for what seemed like hours and hours and hours, and finally he was found by a Filipino and attended to by a field doctor, then taken to a military hospital. |
