| Research Note | The picture of the three boys was taken at the Will Simes Art Studio in Monett in 1898. There was another son, George, who died around the age of 8 and has a stone marker at Waldensian Cemetery. In the picture left to right is William Shiels (born Jan. 30, 1873 in Scotland; died Dec. 30, 1947 in Missouri); James Shiels (born Oct. 3, 1871 in Scotland; died Nov. 23, 1957 in Missouri); Andrew Shiels (my grandfather) who was born Dec. 30, 1875 in Scotland and died July 11, 1948 in Seattle. |
