Levi and Ida were married Feb. 10, 1880 in Bloomington, Franklin, Nebraska and divorced in 1886. This picture has to have been taken sometime after the divorce because J. Emory was born in 1885. (DC) Levi Billding Madison Mar. 19, 1860 Battle Creek, Calhoun Co., MI Feb. 28, 1910 Mountain Twp., Barry Co., MO Son of William J. Madison born Erie Co., NY and Amelia Royston born NY. He was married and a miller and mechanic. His mother Amelia Madison of Scholten, MO was the informant. The DC says he was buried at Carney Cemetery. Levi's granson says he was buried at Flat Creek Cemetery. Levi had 3 wives. His first wife Ida, was the mother of Alfred Gilbert Madison, Adelbert William Madison, and J. Emory Madison. Levi and Ida were married Feb. 10, 1880 in Bloomington, Franklin, Nebraska and divorced in 1886. (DC) Ida Glendora Sherwood (Madison) (Bennett) July 22, 1856 Porter Co., IN July 3, 1940 Purdy, Barry Co., MO Daughter of Andrew Sherwood and Phoebe Norris both born IN. First wife of Levi Billding Madison. Ida second married Edgar A. Bennett born Dec. 29, 1892 in Ipswich, England and had 5 more children. Ida and Edgar are buried at Ennis Cemetery at that time called Forest Grove. Sons: 1. (DC) Alfred Gilbert Madison May 16, 1881 Bloomington, Franklin Co., NE Nov. 11, 1945 Rural Purdy, Barry Co., MO He was married to Malinda Sophronia Doty. Son of Levi Billding Madison and Ida Glendora Sherwood. His occupation was a miller and farmer at the feed mill. Alfred and Malinda are buried at Arnhart Cemetery. 2. (DC) Adelbert William Madison Apr. 16, 1883 Galloway, NE May 10, 1948 Marionville, Lawrence Co., MO He was married to Etta Bell Patton and a farmer. Son of Levi Billding Madison and Ida Glendora Sherwood. Etta was the informant and address given was Cassville, MO. Adelbert is buried under the name A. Delbert and he and Etta are buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery. 3. (Source is Son of J. Emory Madison) J. Emory Madison Feb. 20, 1885 Kearney, Buffalo, NE Dec. 14, 1963 Weaversville, Trinity Co., CA J. Emory was killed in an auto accident. The car rolled over a cliff and he was ejected. He married Letta Ethal Kivett in NE. They are both buried at the IOOF Cemetery in Orland, CA. |
