Middle row: Lewis Elbert Hunt & daughter, Daniel James Hunt (my g-grandfather), Herbert Virgil Hunt, (my dad, who managed Gillioz Clothing in Monett for many years), James Blackburn Hunt, Amanda Clementine (Trower) Hunt (my g-grandmother), Susan "Dona" Simmons, and little girl Elinor Simmons. Front row: Cecil Wayne Hunt, Clemma Simmons, Marie Simmons, Hazel Clementine Hunt, Loren Simmons. My grandparents, Alonzo Ulysses Hunt and Cora Florence (Moore) Hunt are in the picture and lived in Mt. Vernon, but are buried in IOOF cemetery. My great grandparents are the parents of this family picture and they lived here and there in several counties in their lifetime. Alonzo, J. Ola, Eddie, and Dona were siblings, children of Daniel James Hunt and Amanda (Trower) Hunt. Amanda was the daughter of Pleasant Henry Trower, and I wish that I knew where he is buried. One source says Arkansas, but I can't believe that and have not found him there. I think Amanda is buried in IOOF, too. I believe my father was about 6 or 8 in this picture so it was taken around 1910. Not sure whose house this is but don't think it is my grandparents' on Sloan. |
