Research Note Here is picture of Charles Marion and Harriett N. (Burrow) Collier. Harriett was the 2nd wife of Charles Marion Collier. He came to Barry County sometime after 1860.

Charles Marion Collier was born 4 July 1830 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee. He married (1st) J. Elvira Burrow 4 Jan 1849 in Lincoln Co., Tennessee, She died 6 Dec 1868 in Seligman, Barry Co., Missouri. They had 8 Children.

He married (2nd) Harriett N. Burrow on 09 February 1869 in Lawrence Co., Missouri. She died 3 Dec 1890 in Seligman, Barry Co., Missouri and is buried in New Salem Cemetery. They had 4 children.

Charles Marion Collier married (3rd) Samarimus Baldwin Fairchild on 7 Sept 1891 in Cassville, Barry Co., Missouri. No children.

Charles Marion Collier died 30 Sept 1890 in Seligman, Barry Co., Missouri and is buried in New Salem Cemetery.

Bet. July 1847–August 1848 he served in the Mexican War: Williams' Co. E, 3rd TN Infantry and in 1887 received a pension of $8.00 a month for his service. Pension Certificate No. 16261.

Bet. 1861 & 1865 he served as a Captain in the Missouri State Guard, Company C, 5th Regiment, Infantry, 8th Division. CSA.

Charles Marion Collier was a preacher and performed several marriages in Barry County.
