Seated are John Adam Bayless, his brother-in-law James Polk Youngblood, and his brother George M. Bayless.

Standing are Rebecca Chaney Bayless (Mrs. John Adam Bayless), Paulina Ann Bayless Youngblood, and Martha Stephens Bayless (Mrs. George M. Bayless). John and Rebecca lived two miles north of Cassville, Paulina and Polk lived near Republic, and George and Martha lived in the Antioch community northwest of Cassville.

Other sisters included Nancy Jane Bayless Ferguson (Mrs. William Ferguson) who lived near Butterfield, Sarah M. Bayless Wallace (Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Wallace) who lived near Republic, and Elizabeth Bayless Barnes (Mrs. John Barnes) who died before 1860.

Brothers included William A. Bayless who died during the Civil War and who is buried in the Springfield National Cemetery and Hugh P. Bayless who left home to join the army and was never heard from again.

Their parents, John Howard Bayless and Lurana Jones Bayless are buried in Vineyard Cemetery northwest of Cassville.
