Georgia Ball Farwell said that this is a photo of her mother 's people.

The photo, she said, was in her great aunt's things, but that she had passed on a long time ago. I believe that Georgia thinks that her aunt is pictured in the photo.

She said that her grandmother, Artie (Cordell) and the Rev. James Carter, lived in Roaring River on what is now the park land. Her sisters and their families would, every once in a while, met in the valley along the river for a family picnic. Their meeting place is now located within the Roaring River Park.

Georgia said that she thinks from what her mother, Lorena (Carter) Ball, said that they met on what she thought was on the old the old Milo Russell place, which at that time must have been part of the Elting's place.

Gary Ball mentioned that it looks like the lady holding the baby is sitting on what appears to be the seat from the wagon.

Edith Carter married Ethel Ball and Lorana Carter married Edward Ball. They were sons of Finas and Dolly (Tucker) Ball.
