Research Note | This photo is of John King Terry (1838-1918) and his wife.
Mary Ann (Riddle) Terry (1841-1923) John & Mary lived in Barry County from their marriage until their deaths. John was the son of Martin (or Francis Martin) Terry and Mary Ann Reed, both of Barry County. Martin was the son of William Terry and Barbara Ennis. Both are buried in the East Purdy cemetery. Mary Ann Riddle was the daughter of James and Rhoda (King) Riddle. John served in the Civil War as a blacksmith, Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, served as justice of the peace, a lay minister, and was a well respected member of his community. |
