History
The Cubbing organization was first started in Cassville about two years ago for the purpose of acquainting boys of pre-scout age with the purposes and endeavors of the Boy Scouts. Quentin Hammons was the leader of this movement here, while Pat Hutton, Glen Dale Nicoll and Burl Baker were then den chiefs. Mrs. Fields, Mrs. Roy Brooks, and Mrs. Barnett were den mothers. There were then about ten boys whereas now the Cubs number around twenty-eight. Mr. Hammons is still the cubmaster (sic) and Burl Baker, Glenn Rowland, and Junior Windes are the present den chiefs. Each year a number of the cubs graduate and become regular scouts on reaching the age of twelve.
