Trips

The Trip to Jefferson City
One of the most enjoyed scout trips was the one to Jefferson City one Saturday last January. The troops from the surrounding towns as well as the Cassville boys went in a procession with a police escort. The day had been well planned by the leaders and the boys visited the state prison, the reformatory farms at Algoa (where they ate lunch), the state capitol building, and the governor mansion. Many of the scouts bought souvenirs at the capitol. For an hour during which the boys could go where they pleased in the capitol building it was literally swarming with scouts. After having their pictures taken the boys climbed into their respective cars and started on the homeward way tired but happy group.
