When a boy he moved with his parents to Ohio where they lived till he was most grown. There he was converted and joined the United Brethren Church, living a constant Christian life, always having a smile and kind word for everyone.

He was one of the pioneers of Labette County, Kansas, moving there in 1866, most of his time being spent in Kansas until 5 years ago he moved to Mineral Spring, Mo. Since living in his county he has been held in high esteem by all. His Christian life has been worthy of imitation, many saying his life has shed light on a Christian pathway, and that they had been encouraged by his example.

Grandpa Braught will be missed in the community and by his neighbors, but no where will his absence be noticed as much as in the home of his companion.

Funeral services were conducted at the church in Mineral Springs Sunday afternoon by Rev. E. W. Love of this city and interment in the Mineral Spring cemetery.
