Citizens of Washburn Prairie informed Sheriff Brixey Sunday that a strange man, apparently demented, was in that locality. The Sheriff drove out and brought him up to Cassville where he was locked up until an investigation could be made.

He gives his name as Fred Hamlet. He appears to be a nervous wreck. While in the Washburn Prairie locality he had acted like a wild man, running through fields, briers and timber until he had lost his clothing.
