Washburn News: Mrs. Jane Hunt Long died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Laura Brixey in Grove, Okla., Dec 5. If she had lived until May 4th, 1915, she would have been 85 years old. She was born in Indiana and later moved to Illinois. She had been a resident of Barry Country for 43 years. She was the mother of nine children, four having died in infancy. Three sons and two daughters survive her. She and her daughter, Mrs. Lon King, left here about eight years ago to reside in the west. She was a member of the M. E. Church and lived a devoted Christian life. A good saint has passed away and will be missed by her children. Her remains were shipped here Sunday accompanied by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Brixey and was taken to the home of John Black. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Union Church at one o'clock by Rev. J. E. Harney and the remains were laid to rest to await the resurrection in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery, followed by a large crowd of sorrowing friends.
