Washburn Prairie News: Little Dorris Marvell, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hopkins, died Thursday, June 13, age one month. Funeral services by Rev. P. H. Hodge after which the little body was laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery. The bereaved parents have our heartfelt sympathy. [Research Note: May be mean one day old - instead of one month.]

Chas. Haddock of Exeter was in Cassville Saturday looking out for his interest as a candidate for nomination for assessor on the Democratic ticket.

[Abstract] Miss Jewette LeCompte and Mrs. Means Ray were married Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. LeCompte. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. LeCompte. She is a graduate of the Cassville High School and of the Missouri State University. She is highly educated and cultured and her many graces fit her well for the new relations upon which she has entered. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ray and is a young man with ability and ambition. He is editor of the Cassville democrat and is gaining prominence in his profession.

Richmond Wormington of near Monett had his barn badly damaged and a fine horse killed by lighting during the severe hail storm in that vicinity last Thursday evening. There was no insurance on the property.

Henry Thomas, an old and highly respected citizen of the west part of the county, died Thursday of last week. Rev. Brattin conducted the funeral services on Friday. A very large crowd was present which was an assestation? of the esteem of his neighbors and friends.

Sugar Creek News: We are sorry that the bonds for the building a court house were defeated. We expected it to carry. The voters from Ash township are going to poll a good vote July 6, for the bonds.

Tom Volz died suddenly at his home in Arkansas City, Kan., Sunday. Tom was reared in Cassville. He leaves a wife and four or five children. His wife is a granddaughter of Jacob Hawk
