Oak Ridge News: Died, Friday, Feb 2nd, W. H. Cooper, of consumption. He had been sick about 3 years. He was a painter by trade and was said to know more about colors than any man in the southwest. He was about 62 years old. He was buried at Quaker Cemetery Sunday, Rev. Crouch preaching the funeral. To the bereaved we extend our sympathy.

Milwaukee News: Grandma Porter fell and hurt her self very bad Friday of last week. Dr. Northcutt of Washburn was called. He did not think any bones were broken. Grandma being old and her mind not good we fear she will never be up any more.

Mrs. Polk Creason of Liberty township, died at her home five miles west of Exeter, Friday, Feb. 9, of pneumonia aged about 70 years. She leaves a husband and several children all of whom except one are married. She was buried Saturday at Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Creason was a member of the Baptist Church and is spoken of with much esteem by the people of that vicinity.

The state bureau of vital statistics makes the following report for Barry County during the month of December: Deaths from typhoid fever 2, scarlet fever 2, diphtheria 1, tuberculosis of the lungs 3, cancer 2, diseases of the nervous system 2, diseases of the heart 1, pneumonia 3, brights disease 1, puerperal state 1, accidents 1, other cases 7. Births during the month of December 60, while the total number of deaths was 26.

Miss Maggie Ruddick closed a most successful term of school in the Shady Grove district northwest of Cassville Saturday, Feb. 10.
