Obituaries:


Died at his home in Pawnee, Okla., Robert Box, March 1909. He was born Dec 9, 1842, and died at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 1 day. He came from Indiana to Barry County, when a small boy and was married to Emily C. Hadley, Nov 23, 1858.

Emily C. Box, wife of Robert Box was born Dec 6, 1839 and died March 12, 1911, at the age of 71 years, 3 months, 6 days. She came from Kentucky to Barry County when 14 years of age, was a sister of John and Sideny Hadley of Cassville, MO. She was married to Robert Box, Nov 23, 1858. To this union six children were born four having died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Louisa Wilkerson of Beaver County, Okla., died Feb 26, 1909, that leaves one surviving son, James H. Box of Pawnee, Okla., also an adopted daughter, Mrs. Lulu (Baldwin) Malby of Billings, Okla., and relatives of both in Barry and Jasper Counties, Mo. They had lived in around Cassville since their marriage until they came to Pawnee, Okla., Nov 1888. He was an old Confederate soldier, served in the army over three years. They both belonged to the Missionary Baptist Church having joined when young and were members of that church at Pawnee, Okla. where they died. We send this account of their deaths to the paper as they had lived there so long and had many old friends there.
