Tragic Death of Bride:

On Sunday, Mr. Claud Hemphill son of Wm. Levi Hemphill of our miles southeast of town, made Miss Branstetter, his bride. Today he laid her body away in the burying ground at Osa.

Tuesday evening young Mrs. Hemphill became violently ill. All night she vomited and cramped, suffering great pain. In the morning Dr. Cravens of Marionville was called and on arriving administered a sedative to quiet the stomach and left, intending to return in the afternoon. A few hours later, about noon, it was discovered that the young woman had passed away. Called up by long distance and asked the cause of Mrs. Hemphill's death, Dr. Craves said it was from natural causes, but that a post mortem examination would be necessary to determine the cause definitely.
