Born to Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Black, northeast of town, Sept 26, a daughter.

Abe Swindle and daughter Mrs. Ocie, drove over from near Corsicana Monday. They will soon return to California, but will stop in Colorado for awhile.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Marbut went to Sarcoxie on Monday's noon train to visit Mrs. Marbut's father, Joe Hudson and family. They will return to Sweetwater, Tex, the latter part of this week.

G. W. Bunnell placed a family monument in the John W. Newby lot in Mineral Spring Cemetery this week.

L. Whittington, Wm, Tom, and John Shrum of Eagle Rock, were in town, Tuesday.

Tim S. Wilson died Sunday night at his home near Osa, after an extended illness. His relatives sent him to the Nevada Asylum for treatment several months ago, but they could do him no good. He was the fifth son of the late County Judge David A. Wilson, a well and favorably known citizen during life, who enjoyed the respect and confidence of all his acquaintances. Tim was a big, warm hearted fellow, who enjoyed all extended acquaintances. He left a wife and several children, several brothers an sisters to mourn his death. Mrs. Tim Wilson is a sister of Mrs. A. L. Galloway of this city. Mr. Galloway and daughter Miss Lela attended the funeral Tuesday at the Osa Cemetery.

Purdy News: Mrs. Anna Ambrose returned last week from Oklahoma, where she spent the summer with her son, John.

Clark News: We are sorry to chronicle the death of Mrs. Bert Smith. The bereaved ones have our sympathy in their sorrow.

Washburn Prairie News: Born to A. J. Hopkins and wife, the 24th, a 9 lb. girl.

Married, Sunday, Oct 3, 1909, by Squire Plattenburg at his residence, C. F. Reno of Mineralsprings, and Miss Belle Boles of Powell, McDonald County.

Thomas Hollow News: Mrs. Sphar of near Butterfield, is visiting her sister Mrs. Leonard this week.

Mrs. Sarah Nivens died at the county farm Thursday evening of a larynaxl? trouble, aged about 65 years. She had been an invalid for several years. She is well connect? in the northwest part of this county. The remains were convey to Osa yesterday where they were interred.

Nadine, 5 year old daughter of Wm. Turner of this city, was accidentally shot Saturday evening by Paul, a 5 year old son of J. C. Baker, with a 22 caliber target gun at Mr. Barker's residence. The bullet nicked her right ear and entered her neck and ranged around base of brain to left side of head. The wound is not dangerous and she will soon be well. Guns are very dangerous pieces of furniture and should never be allowed in hands of children.

Sig Burton now occupies the late Aaron Long property on North Main Street.

Mrs. Minerva Champ, widow of Wm. A. Champ; has been granted a pension of $12. per month from July 16, 1909. Harry Horine secured the pension for her.

Geo. W. Ryan, who formerly resided five miles northeast of town, died in Texas last spring.

Jas. C. Lowe, who got one of his legs broken sometime ago, was taken from the home of his son-in-law Alfred Pilant, Oct 1, to his home near the Vanzandt school house.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sater and daughter of Miller will attend the Big Barry County Fair next week.

Walter Wilks informs us that Mrs. S. A. Briggs died at Siloam Springs, Ark., Oct 2, very suddenly while at the table eating a meal with her family. The remains were interred Tuesday, at Verona, where they formerly resided. She was a member of the Christian Church.

J. T. Vanhook has had a water hydrant put in at his residence.

Geo. Reed and Silas Ball of near Eagle Rock, were in town Tuesday.

Exeter News: E. Drake and brother, Ellis, of Monett, visited home folks this week.

Forest Grove News: Rev. Gray of Butterfield will preach next Saturday night and Sunday.

White Church News: P. R. Moore and sons Arthur and Herman, went to Sarcoxie last week, Wednesday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Howell. Mr. Howell is very ill.

Madry News: Mrs. J. D. Lee and little daughter Esther, took dinner with Mrs. M. J. Boyd Sunday.

Munsey News: Rev. George Haddock preached Sunday night and his wife also preached Sunday.

Munsey News: R. W. Whittington bought Bob Jagear's house and moved it near the Eagle Rock Church.

Munsey News: There was prayer meeting at Mrs. Emily Tucker's Saturday night.

Munsey News: Arthur Ball and Frank Tucker went to Seligman Saturday.

Munsey News: J. E. A. Ball found three of his hogs dead Saturday. They seem to go crazy, got into the river and drown.

Clark News: Fletcher Patton died Tuesday, Oct 5, after a long illness with stomach trouble and was buried in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Oct 6. His wife had died about ten years ago. He leaves eight children, two sons and six daughters. The oldest is Dow who is nearly 21 years of age. One of the girls married a few days before her father died.

Clark News: Three of Fletcher Patton's children are very sick and they think one will die.

Dry Hollow News: John Skelton of near Seligman started to Washington Sunday.

Dry Hollow News: J. H. Brewer bought John Skelton's corn crop.

A baby girl arrived Sunday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. VanHook.

Mr. and Mrs. John Montgomery of Seligman attended the fair Tuesday.

Accidentally Shot:

Thursday morning while Dean Burris and step-son, John Bradford, age 20 years, son of Cap Bradford of near Eagle Rock, were out hunting, a shotgun in the hands of Burris was discharged and John Bradford received full effect of the shot in the leg about half way between the knee and ankle joints. Burris was only about ten feet from Bradford when the gun was accidentally discharged. The discharge tore a hole through the limb leaving the skin and the attaching muscles on the outside and on the inside of the limb intact. The inner bone of the limb was completely broken while the other bone was also broken and badly shattered. The limb was in such a condition that amputation was necessary. The accident occurred about 8 o'clock Thursday morning. Dr. Kelly was called immediately and a call was also made at once for assistance from Cassville physicians Drs. Rawhauser and Mitchell went and amputated the limb Thursday afternoon. Bradford is reported doing nicely.

While Drs. Mitchell and Rawhauser were driving to the Dean Burris, place near Eagle Rock, Thursday, to care for John Bradford who was accidentally shot, the buggy became uncoupled throwing the physicians over the dash board but resulted in no injuries.

Sarah Nivens, an inmate at the county farm, died Thursday aged about 65 years. She had relatives near Osa and her remains were taken there for burial Friday.

W. M. Carlin drove his cattle through Saturday, taking them from his ranch on Rock Creek to his farm near Monett.

Purdy News: Mrs. W. S. Carlin and family went to Monett, Tuesday, to attend a birthday dinner given for her mother, Mrs. Northcutt.

Esther, the two months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bounous, died Friday, October 8. The funeral was held at he Waldensian Church, Saturday morning at 10:o'clock. Rev. J. G. Knotter and Rev. Allen had charge of the service.

Married, Oct 3, 1909, at the residence of Judge A. F. Hilker, father of the bride of near Purdy, Mr. Glen Prevo and Miss Pauline Hilker. Both bride and groom come from highly respected families and have hosts of friends whose best wishes will follow them on their journey through life.

Clarence Short was convicted at Bentonville, Ark., last week for forgery and was given two years in the penitentiary.

Independence News: Bill Corn, John Weatherly and others attended the sale at John L. Montgomery's at Rocky Comfort Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Ivey of near Newtonia, came over Wednesday to visit Mrs. Ivey's brother, Geo. Callaway and family.

Rance Haddock and daughter of near Eagle Rock, were in Cassville Saturday.

John Montgomery and wife, J. M. Mitchell, O. S. Arnold and many others of Seligman were at the fair this week.

Acting Mayor Bailey did a good deed, when he took up the matter of securing electric lights for the city. It will be appreciate by everybody.

Jas. Shoemake of Wheaton was before the pension board, Wednesday of last week.

Mrs. Martha Miller of Golden has been sick with appendicitis. She is a sister of Kelly Truman of this city.

Fairview News: Marve Shepherd of Ritchey died Wednesday and was buried Thursday by Pogue and White, funeral directors.

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Skelton of Eagle Rock transacted business in Cassville, Tuesday.

Alonzo Frost had a plate of three Wolf River apples on exhibition at the fair last week which weighted 14, 16, and 18 ounces respectively. They are as fine samples a were ever shown at any exhibition in the county.

The following letters are advertised at the Cassville post office: Mrs. Amelia Hall, Margaret Mosslan, W. H. Henckel, O. L. Smith, and M. H. Sattrell. If not called or within two weeks they will be sent to the dead letter office at Washington D. C..

Deputy Sheriff Henley drove to Ridgley Monday and arrested Fred Cox charged with violating the local option law. He was brought to Cassville and lodged in the county jail.

Jenkins News: The Christian protracted meeting held at Lone Elm by Rev. J. Eubanks closed Sunday night with five additions to the church, Miss Alice Eubanks, Mrs. Bell Fare, Alonzo Woods, Minor Burress and Miss Gertie Hudson.

Washburn Prairie News: Born Oct 7, to Mr. and Mrs. Moulten Varner, an 8 pound girl. We think perhaps Moult will recover.

John Baker had an attack of heart trouble Tuesday morning near the mill while going to feed his hogs in the lot at the canning factory. He fell unconscious and probably would have died had he not been discovered at once by S. W. Beaver who was watering his horse at the creek. Beaver, joined by Dave Dingler and Henry Kerrick carried him to the City Hotel where he soon recovered consciousness. He was confined to his bed during the day but is now out again.

The six months old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Roller west of town died this morning after a short illness with the fever. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon and the body was interred at Purdy. Monett Star.

Mr. Earl W. Blankenship and Miss Eula Johnson, both of Barry County, were united in marriage yesterday evening at the South Methodist parsonage. Neosho Democrat.

Mr. Blankenship is a son of Elihu R. Blankenship of near Corsicana and Mrs. Blankenship's home was at Wheaton, and is a daughter of Mal Johnson, favorably known to many people in this county. Success to them.

The Star says Mrs. Drew Wilkerson of Monett, who is very sick is holding her own. Her many friends here hope for her recovery.

G. M. Brixey brought 46 head of mules and horses here last week. Two other buyers bought 8 or 10 head, scattering lots of money.

Mrs. Emamul Burkhart of Stroud, Okla., is visiting her mother, Mrs. J.C. Hemphill and family of McDonald Township.

Mayflower News: Gabe Potts and mother have moved back to their old home place. Considering the past, let us hope that they may be happy once more.

Mayflower News: Mrs. Evans died the 1st and was buried in McDonald County. She leaves 5 children to mourn her death.

Cross Hollows: Grant Vaughn was seen here one day this week.

R. L. Wimset, Age 82, Dead: Robert L. Wimset, age 82 years, the head of four generations, and one of he early settlers of this vicinity, died Saturday in the Alexington Hospital in St. Louis. He died on the 16th, the date of his birth. The body was brought home yesterday morning on No. 5 by Marshall and Chas. Wimset, C. A., Bainbridge and W. D. Randall, and the funeral will be held from The Catholic Church, Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock.

He leaves nine children, several grand-children and great grand-children and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Mr. Wimset, settled in this county thirty-three years ago and had engaged in farming most of the time. He was a relative by marriage of Daniel Boone. Monett Star.

Munsey News: Mrs. Martha Curry is having her barn remodeled which makes quite an improvement.

Munsey News: Mrs. M. G. Jagears and son James, will soon leave for Monett. They have rented their farm for the coming season.

Munsey News: Frank Garner has retuned from Oklahoma, where he has been attending his son, Floyd, during his sickness. He reports his son doing will but not stout enough to return with him.

Hazel Dell News: Shelby Boucher and Earl Gibbons have secured work at Tulsa, Okla., at $2.50 per day.

Madry News: The 17 year old son of John Ellingsworth who has been afflicted all of his life, died last Wednesday. The remains were laid to rest in the Osa Cemetery.

Purdy News: We understand that Roy Turner, step-son, of Tom Cullup, who was formerly a resident of Purdy, was injured in a rock crusher out in Alaska, where he was working, on Sept 19. He died on the 4th of October was taken back to Seattle, Wash., where his mother now resides.

Gunter News: Eld. Whittington was called to Shiloh Saturday evening to conduct the funeral of Mr. Henson's little girl.

Pleasant Ridge News: The infant child of will Dennis of Monett was buried at the Calton Cemetery Saturday at 1 o'clock.

Fairview News: Last Sunday evening a horse that Guss Mirical was driving to a buggy became frighten and kicked the buggy to pieces, kicking Mr. Mirical on the right leg breaking it between the ankle and knee. Drs. Mitchell and Freeman were called at once and he is reported as doing fairly well today (Monday).

Sunday, Oct 24, occurred the marriage of Loren Stubblefield to Miss Aubrey McNabb, Rev. Chas. Vanzandt officiating. The young couple accompanied by Luther Davidson and Miss Myrtle Smith drove to Fairview where their pastor, Rev. Vanzandt, was engaged in a series of meetings and were untied in marriage at 3:30 p.m. The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Stubblefield of near Cassville and is one of Barry County's energetic young farmers. The bride is the only daughter of Mrs. Mary McNabb of near Exeter and is loved and respected by all who know her. May their life be long and happy and their pathway be strewn with flowers. A friend.

Died: Sunday, Oct 17, little Allen Stever, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stever of Mano, after an illness of fifteen days of blood poison. He was born July 7, 1903, and died October 17, age 6 years, 3 months and 11 days.

Abe Swindle and family are at present located at Grand Junction, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. Finis Stamps are the parents of a baby girl born in this city the 20th.

The home of E. J. Black is wrapped in mourning on account of the death of their son, Charlie Blan Black, who departed this life last night at the age of 33 years. The bereaved relatives have the deepest sympathy of their many friends. Berryville, Ark. Progress

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones of Washburn, Oct 22, a son. It is said the father is doing a wonderful amount of strutting over the advent of the youngster, but it is hoped he will do nothing that he might regret. The youngster's granddaddy is reported to be badly puffed up, while its great-uncle Jake Davis is practicing on baby lullabies.

Born to Evert Jordan and wife of near Flat Creek, Oct 27, a daughter.

Deputy Sheriff Henley left Wednesday to bring A. N. Twilligear of Angleton, Okla., to this place on a charge of altering a warranty deed and securing a loan of $270. on the land, from the bank of Exeter. This occurred some three years ago and Twilligear was indicted by a grand jury. He is a son of Samuel C. H. Twilligear, who formerly lived near town; but now resides in Washington, and married a daughter of the late Judge E. B. Utter. The report goes Judge Utter executed the deed to Mrs. Twilligear and her heirs and it is said "her heirs" was erased from the deed. Twilligear writes Sheriff Newman that he will come back without a requisition, and seems very anxious to get back and have his trial.

John Bradford who was shot in one of his legs, and the leg amputated, has been removed from near Eagle Rock to the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Ayers 2 1/2 miles southwest of town, and is recovering from his wound.

Mrs. Scott Stubblefield died in Kansas City, Oct 24, 1909, from an operation for appendicitis, aged about 35 years. She left a husband and 2 children to mourn her death. Mr. Stubblefield is a son of the late Judge I. N. Stubblefield and a brother of Clay Stubblefield of near this city.

G. M. Brixey sold a car load of mules to C. A. Potter of Osego, Kan., Tuesday.

Emmett Hall of Roaring River, was arrested at Monett, Thursday on a charge of stealing chickens, and Officer Andrews brought him to the county jail yesterday morning.

Dr. Kelley of Eagle Rock, returned from Branson, Taney County, Monday noon, where he had been attending his daughter, Mrs. Dora Shelton, who has been very sick. She is recovering - Reads Shelton but could be Skelton.]
