| Shell Knob News: Born to Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Brock, last Wednesday, a girl, and boy. Mother and babes doing well but Amos is considerable frustrated. Shell Knob News: Wm. Painter and wife of Rocky Comfort have been visiting and waiting upon their son, Tommy. Shell Knob News: Willie Brock died last Friday Night from typhoid pneumonia fever, and was buried in Epperly Cemetery. Shell Knob News: Wm. Taber and family started for Newton County, Arkansas, last week where they intend to make their future home. Joseph Madwell went with them to assist their moving. Miss Ida Bell of Oklahoma, who has been visiting B. M. Fountain, died Monday evening at the latter's home from consumption, age 21 years. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon and the burial took place in the Cassville Cemetery. John Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Livingston, died Tuesday, at 12 a.m., aged 8 months and 12 days. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. Baldwin. Interment in Cassville Cemetery. Mrs. Charles Brown of Exeter, died Wednesday of last week, aged 60 years. The deceased was well known and highly respected. The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in charge of the Order of Eastern Star. Several members of the order from Cassville attended. The five year old son of Hugh Erwin, residing east of town, was kicked by a horse Saturday while in Cassville. The little fellow sustained a cut on the forehead and several bruises on his face. Arch Dyer of Fayette County, Ohio arrived in Cassville last week. Next week his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Hodges, will arrive from Ohio. Mr. Dyer intends buying a tract of land as soon as possible. S. B. Freeland is building a residence on his farm near Mt. Sinai. Criminal Docket: State vs. Jule Russell, grand larceny. Hurst's farm north of Washburn, lost his oldest child Tuesday morning with what was said to be brain fever, and was buried in the Prairie Cemetery. Dog Hollow News: Charley and Nate Bennett killed a whip snake last week that measured seven feet and two inches. Washburn Prairie News: Mrs. John Medlin of Purdy was visiting her mother, Mrs. Lockwood, Saturday and Sunday. New Site News: A. Haddock is preparing to improve his farm by building a new house. The remains were laid to rest in the Bayless Cemetery. Ash News: The infant son of C. A. Schell died last week, interred in Antioch Cemetery. Ash News: John Van Zandt lost an $80 milk cow from eating pumpkins. Ash News: J. S. VanZandt had two hogs go mad. They were bitten by a dog. Died: Jessie Winton, son of Wm. and Evy Warren, died at Concord, Aug. 15, 1900, age 7 years, 11 months and 3 days. Bessie departed this life Sept. 29, 1900, age 5 years, 10 months and 24 days. Little Grace followed them Oct. 10, 1900. She lived here 1 year, 2 months and 19 days. The two former were sick three days only and the latter five days. Short was their stay with us, and but thank God they are now in Heaven, where no sad experience will ever come, but to live with and learn of Him who "Took little children in His arms and blessed them." and to associate with those loved ones who were "Washed in the blood of the Lamb" that part of the family spoken of in Eph. 3:15. We can go to them 2nd Kings 12:23 "I shall go to Him, but he shall not return to me." And the good shepherd has taken these little lambs across the river where suffering and death can never come. | Obituary: Mrs. S. M. Roberts, wife of A. W. Roberts, was born in Barry County, MO, July 30, 1852, died at Fairland, I. T., July 30, 1900, age 48 years, 2 months and 27 days. The sorrow over the death of our mother was intense and a crushing force was relieved only by the calm assurance that it is the Lord and that He doeth all things well. Her departure was very sudden, but she was ready. She leaves a husband, three daughters, and five sons to mourn her loss and a host of relatives and friends. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church, [poem included]. A. W. Roberts, Minnie Roberts. Caused Death: A fatal accident occurred Wednesday afternoon about 2 o'clock. Will Newby, living with his father about two miles south of town was working with an old pistol, which he didn't know was loaded, when the weapon, a 38 caliber, was discharged, the ball striking his father in the left side just below the ribs, ranging upward into the heart killing him instantly. Mr. Newby, who is well and favorable known, was 65 years old. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death. The son is about 24 years of age and no doubt, regrets the terrible accident, which was due to his careless. Purdy News. |
