| Shady Grove News: Jake England and his two daughters visited at Monett Saturday and Sunday. Shady Grove News: Willie Freeze has the war fever. Better consult that best girl before you start, for on her decision may hang the destiny of your life. Seligman News: W. F. Fine was elected teacher for Wednesday night by the Rock Springs Writing Club. C. C. Fawver and son Floyd visited Eureka Springs, Monday. Exeter News: Robert Bibb has started a grocery store in connection with his poultry and egg business. Joe Mitchell reports that the recent thunder showers played sad havoc with his telephone instrument. Many being left open and burned out. R. H. Elam of Eagle Rock was called Friday to see his sister, Mrs. Carl Sapp, of near Exeter, who is ill with hemorrhage of the lungs. |

Eagle Rock News: Will Skelton was doing business at Beaver Friday and Saturday and viewing the washouts and ruins caused by recent rains. Gunter News: Charley Crabb's baby is very low with pneumonia. Aix News: Mrs. Montgomery has been sick. Corsicana News: W. T. Bailey recently caused the arrest of John Bertalot charging him with theft. The trial took place at Purdy Saturday resulting in the conviction of the latter, who was fined $1 and cost. The 70th birthday of James Matlock of near town was pleasantly remembered Sunday by fifty friends who gathered with him to make the day happier and dine on the generous dinners brought with them. Mineral Spring: Foster Garrison has moved with his father's family to Douglas, MO. Foster has been steady and industrious and has given good satisfaction in business since coming here. | L. G. Brown left Friday morning for Nathiel Spring, Ark., to visit his brother, R. A., whom he had not seen since the war. Mrs. W. L. Marbut informs us that she will remain in charge of the Hotel Barry, not withstanding reports to the contrary. Corsicana News: Mrs. Elihu Blankenship is quite sick. Rev. J. T. Brattin will preach the funeral of Mrs. Matilda Thomas, wife of Jesse Thomas, at Bethel Church, on Sunday, May 30th at 11 o'clock. Seligman News: Dee Burnett is on the sick list. Washburn Prairie News: Ethel Anderson of Washburn was the guest of Miss Nellie Bowman Sunday. | Died Monday, June 27, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., Hunter Maiden, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wear, aged 1 year, 1 month, and 6 days. The remains were interred in the Cassville Cemetery Tuesday, after services at the residence conducted by Rev H. Pinkston. Miss Pearl Stephens is ill with what is feared to be quick consumption. Hon. A. H. Wear of Springfield was called to town Tuesday night by the death of his nephew, Hunter, son of W. A. Wear. |

Corinth: Died, Charley, the little 6 month old son of Mr. Riley, after several weeks of suffering. The remains were interred to the Corinth Cemetery Saturday evening.
